Jeff Popkin
Co-Founder
After the devastating loss of his mother in 1987, Jeff dedicated his life to the fight
against breast cancer. He and his brother Eliot founded The Ellie Fund in 1994 in
memory of their mother, "Ellie," to help ease the effects of breast cancer on women
and families. Click here for more history.
Jeff is also the Founder/CEO of Boston Event Guide, a full service marketing and events company, and the J-Connection, greater Boston's largest social organization for professionals and students in their 20s, 30s and beyond. In 2006, Jeff was honored as a national Yoplait Champion.
Julie Nations
Executive Director
Julie has twenty years of non-profit leadership experience, with an emphasis in
healthcare fundraising. She joined The Ellie Fund in 2005, after six years with the
Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America as Executive Director for the New England and
Florida chapters. Her previous experience also includes marketing and special event
management for the Massachusetts Service Alliance, The Wellness Community, the
Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and Meals-On-Wheels.
Julie earned her bachelor's degree in english literature from San Francisco State University and master's degree in human ecology from College of the Atlantic in Bar Harbor, Maine. In 2008, Julie was honored as a Pink Power Mom.
